Dr. Barbara A. Ganson is Professor of History at Florida Atlantic University. She earned her Ph.D. in History from the University of Texas at Austin and is the author of Texas Takes Wing: A Century of Flight in the Lone Star State (University of Texas Press, 2014). Her forthcoming book, Lady Daredevils: American Women and Early Aviation, will be published by the University of Illinois Press in July 2026. A leading scholar of aviation and Texas history, Dr. Ganson’s research explores pioneering women pilots and the early development of flight in the United States and abroad.
