
Charles D. Grear serves as Professor of History and Online Manager at Central Texas College. He earned his B.A. from McMurry University, M.A. from Texas Tech University, and Ph.D. from Texas Christian University. Grear specializes in Texas and Civil War history and has authored or edited eleven books, including Texans and War: New Interpretations on the Military History of the Lone Star State, Why Texans Fought in the Civil War, and The Fate of Texas: The Civil War and the Lone Star State. He also co-edits the Civil War Campaigns in the West series with Steven E. Woodworth for Southern Illinois University Press.
