Jason P. Theriot is an author, historian, and consultant specializing in the history of energy, environment, and business along the Gulf Coast. He earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of Houston and a journalism degree from Louisiana State University and served as an Energy Policy Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. His publications include From Beaumont to Deepwater: The Legacy of Sun Oil’s Gulf Coast Division (forthcoming 2026) and an introductory essay in Black Gold in Texas: Oil and Gas History in the Southwestern Historical Quarterly. He also works on family memoirs, biographies, and company histories.
