
John A. Adams, Jr., Ph.D., is an independent scholar and author of some twenty books and numerous articles. A recipient of the T. R. Fehrenbach Award, his main interests are in Texas history of the late 1800s as well as special period studies on the Mexican border region and business topics. His most recent books include The Old Alcalde: Life and Times of a Texas Fire-Eater and Edward L. Blackshear at Prairie View: Texas Education Crusader, both of which will be released in the fall of 2025.
