Dr. Tina B. Henderson is the Prairie View A&M University Community and Economic Development Extension Agent for Washington County. In this role, she empowers local communities by preserving their history and increasing access to programs that support entrepreneurial and economic growth. A Brenham native, she was named Chairman of the Texas Ten Historical Explorers, Inc. in 2019, an organization dedicated to uncovering untold stories of early Washington County. Dr. Henderson earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from UCLA, where she later worked in psychosocial intervention research and directed large-scale grant-funded projects. She has more than thirty years of experience in behavioral research, consulting, and nonprofit leadership. Returning to Brenham in 2017, she immersed herself in community service while advancing research on the county’s nineteen identified freedom colonies. Her work has included developing and installing permanent informational panels to share these important histories.
