This panel introduces researchers to the rich and evolving Texas history resources housed at Southern Methodist University. Presenters from the DeGolyer Library, the SMU Archives, and the Rees-Jones Library of the American West highlight key manuscript, archival, photographic, and printed collections available to scholars, students, and the public. Together, the papers showcase both longstanding and newly developed resources, offering insight into how SMU’s libraries preserve, interpret, and provide access to materials essential for the study of Texas and the American West. The session emphasizes the breadth of available sources and the continuing role of research libraries in supporting historical scholarship.
