Dr. Belinda George serves as the Director of the Spindletop Boomtown Museum at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where she leads preservation efforts, educational programming, and strategic initiatives, including the upcoming 125th Anniversary Celebration of the Lucas Gusher.

A U.S. Army veteran and proud Lamar University alumna, Dr. George earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Master of Education in Administration, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. Her doctoral dissertation, “The Perspectives of Elementary Teachers Regarding the Integration of the JASON Project into the Science Curriculum,” highlights her commitment to innovative, experiential learning.

Dr. George gained international recognition as the creator of Tucked in Tuesdays, a literacy initiative that captured hearts around the world. Today, she continues to advance heritage preservation, educational outreach, and regional tourism throughout Southeast Texas.
