
Tiffany Osburn serves as the Deputy State Archeologist for the Texas Historical Commission, where she focuses on the preservation of historic Texas landscapes and collaborates with landowners to document and protect cultural resources. She holds an M.A. in archeology from the University of Denver, specializing in near-surface geophysics, and has more than a decade of experience in cultural resource management and environmental compliance. Osburn also serves on the boards of the Texas Archeological Society, the Texas Land Conservancy, and the Gault School of Archeological Research. Her work centers on stewardship, education, and land conservation as pathways to preserving Texas’s heritage. Her current research applies archeological and remote-sensing methods to reexamine the historic U.S. Army post at Camp Verde—home of the “Camel Corps” experiment of the 1850s.
